Amnestia elaborates a sensitive re-assembly of the pardon requests sent out by the “Amnesty Caravans” to all those whose lives were affected by Brazil’s Military Dictatorship. The work is entirely composed of archive material and is narrated by Paulo Abraão, former National Secretary of Justice.
Susanna Lira is a filmmaker graduated in International Law and Human Rights. Throughout her career she has directed over 10 documentaries that were showcased in several international film festivals. She has directed and wrote TV series for channels such as HBO, TV Globo, Al Jazeera, among others. Her latest documentary, “Torre Das Donzelas” (2019) has won the best documentary at Festival do Rio 2018.
